Submission Guidelines

Completed articles should be sent to editors [at] fanfiction-studies.net with the title of your paper in the subject line. We ask that you also include an abstract and short bio. At this time, we are only accepting submissions via email.

Articles should be sent by April 30, 2006 to be considered for inclusion in the first issue and will be reviewed before acceptance.

Note: When you send us a message, please add us to your address book to prevent our emails from getting caught in a spam filter.

If you are having trouble sending a file or if you have not heard back from us, please write to our new alternate email: fanfiction.studies [at] gmail.com.

Inquiries & Abstracts

Prospective contributors are welcome to send inquiries or abstracts for feedback.

Length

The suggested length for papers is 3,000-8,000 words.

Style

Since papers will be coming from a range of fields and countries, any recognized citation format is acceptable, although MLA style is preferred.

We expect a diversity of readers as well as contributors. With that in mind, articles should be written for a general but intelligent audience.

Previously Published or Presented Work

If your work has been presented, printed, or posted online, in whole or in part, please let us know in your email. Please also ensure that all references and citations are up to date.

We ask that you do not submit an article that is also under consideration at another publication.

All else equal, preference will generally be given to new work.

Haven't heard from us?

Please contact us if you haven't heard about a submission or inquiry or if you have trouble sending a file. Also please make sure to add editors @ fanfiction-studies . net to your address book so our messages aren't caught in your email provider's spam filter.
