Sharon Bowers (editor) was extensively involved for a number of years in fandoms/fanfiction writing, and now concentrates more on the academic interrogation of texts. Her fanfiction work focuses on shows such as Xena, Law & Order, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, while her academic work concentrates on texts such as The L-Word, ER, Queer as Folk, and NYPD Blue. Her published fiction includes Lucifer Rising (Justice House Publishing, 1999) and the story "First Time Gone" in At First Blush (Jane Doe Press, 2002). She also wrote "Watching Jill and Diane: Blue Through Other Eyes" in What Would Sipowicz Do? (Benbella Press, 2004). She has given several presentations at popular culture conferences in the U.S.
Stephanie Dutchen (editor) earned a B.A. in English and a B.S. in Journalism from Boston University. Her publications and presentations include "Mischief Managed: The Marauders Ride Again, in Fan Fiction" for Accio UK (2005) and "Severus Snape: Byronic Hero or Greasy Git?" for Convention Alley (2004). Her fandom interests include Harry Potter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, House M.D., Angel, Star Trek and X-Men movieverse.
Kristi Lee (editor), known within fandom as Thevina or "Thrihyrne" on Live Journal, is an award-winning fanfiction author and independent scholar. Her 2004 paper studying a Tolkein fanfiction archive, "Under the Waterfall: A fanfiction community's analysis of their self-representation and peer review," was published in Refractory: A Journal of Entertainment Media and included in its entirety in the appendix of Sheenagh Pugh's The Democratic Genre: Fan Fiction in a Literary Context (2005). She has also been nominated for and won several fanfiction awards from groups including the Mithril Awards, Parma-Eruseen, the Middle-Earth Fanfiction Awards, and the Best Mates Awards. By request, her Tolkien and Harry Potter fanfiction is archived in Third Age, Garden of Ithilien, Wellinghall, The Quidditch Pitch, Fire + Ice, Irish Charm and other websites.
Carol O'Sullivan (editor) is a lecturer in Italian and translation at the University of Portsmouth in England. Her main research interests are in literary translation, but she also writes and researches on film, television and popular culture. Carol was one of the co-organisers of "Blood, Text and Fears," the first international conference on the Buffyverse, held in Norwich, England in October 2002. She is particularly interested in slash fanfiction, fan translation and the relationship of fan writers to characters, and is currently working on fanfiction as textual afterlife.
Heather Schell (editor) is an assistant professor of writing at George Washington University. She has taught a freshman intensive writing course on internet fandom for three semesters.
Nichole Suprina (editor) earned a B.A. in English from Mt. Holyoke College and is currently pursuing a second Bachelor's degree in Sociology from SUNY Stony Brook in New York. She has been reading and writing fanfiction for years with particular interest in slash and the fandoms of Weiss Kreuz, Highlander, Yami No Matsuei and Gravitation.
